Yes We Can

Elected US President Barrack Obama gave a very resounding and inspiring speech in Chicago. It's simple and practically filled with much hope that if ever you hear it, you would feel enlightened. The new president is charismatic that he's able to draw many people of different races and ideologies to hear him speak. I really love it when he mentioned of 106 year old Anne Nixon who experienced the American culture and history throughout those years. And the tagged of YES WE CAN! in his speech really gave much courage and strength to the American people in effecting and trying change to make the nation a better place.
Personally, i'm an advocate of change. I dreamt of a better Filipino nation in the next years and with the coming 2010 Philippine Presidential elections, i do sure hope it would not turn out to be a circus of political wannabees who only wanted to glorify their own personal goals. As of now, as a Filipino, i really felt the need for new chances to gro as a nation where love is the primary key to unity and change. There is s much i wanted to say, perhaps in my next post....

PINOY AKO!!!

By now, sobrang uso ang customized makabayan shirts that declares our culture and how damn proud we are of it. Bakit nga ba ngayon lang naging mabenta yan? if i remembered it right nung nandoon pa ako sa probinsya nag-aaral, all i've heard of Filipino shirt merchandise was that coming from Island Souvenirs at Pidro Shirts, pero sa Metro Manila lang available that time. THen came Bisaya Espesyal naman ng Cebu City....and so it went on, even the designer clothes inspired Obra ni Juan. Pero just this year lang ata, nagsulputan ang maraming customized shirts na Pinas ang Bida. Of course nandyan and Team Manila, Bench, Penshoppe, at si Francis M. na grabe ang influence sa mga youth especially the musicians.
Bumili ako kahapon ng first PINOY culture shirt ko, it's all about Filipino food...adobo, ginataan....atbp. I love being Filipino although palagi ako nag-iingles. I remembered nung nasa elementary pa ako, if i look at the world map, i always see the philippine islands as a man struggling to stand despite the threats of the great and bigger nations around him. Hayyy, basta, i always see things that way kaya siguro if history sums up a Filipino...it always boils down to a fighter for love and freedom.
Well, Pinoy ba ako...o naman!! Taas Noo (as in nawalan na nga ng buhok!), i'm proud of being a certified true blue PINOY!!!
