It’s Christmas time once again….sobra, life is quiet hard this days especially with the rising cost of commodities and the ebola infested pig meat from Luzon, and of course the endless squabble in the uniquely Philippine political circle. Many would wonder, how Filipino families would celebrate this season with much joy and hope opening for them with the meager income they receive from their labors. Ang hirap talaga even if you’re contemplating to have it simple…you can’t help it but be sinful in your thoughts to make ends meet.
As for me, I decided to have my Christmas here in Manila after having it in the seminary in Bicol last year. Baka ngayon, I’ll be having it sa orphanage….I’m just waiting for my schedule to be there as designated by the organizer Jeff Long. Anyway, since I’ll be away from my family again, I might as well make use of my time to share it with this little children who longed for a family they can call their own. Sana nga lang, I could really share myself to them without any tinge of reservation. In Metro Manila, swerte talaga ‘tong mga child centers and orphanages kasi maraming privileged individuals who are willing to give what they can to make this season joyful for this young innocent minds. Sa province, only a few showered this children with gifts and even time. I don’t know the reason, maybe it’s culture and exposure na din. Congested kasi ang Metro kaya and kahirapan ay obvious and survival is really a struggle while sa province, life is simpler and children are obviously have uncomplicated source of joy and happiness. My friends shared maybe it’s because of distance at sobrang centralized ang community dito kaya mas accessible, though in the downside if you do some charity dito sa Metro, it will be talked about in the papers the next day kaya nga minsan it’s better to do charity incognito. Hehehe. Maybe I’m mumbling too much na. I just wanted to share my racing thoughts and hopefully make a good realization out of this.
Basta, may everyone received God’s light this season and be a formidable beacon of hope to all especially the children who needed inspiration from true unblemished hearts. God Bless. Merry Christmas.
Luceat Lux.
